I cannot believe it's been 2 years since my last post on this site.  So many changes have happened in Second Life since then.

2006:  The hype.  Anshe Chung became the first virtual millionaire.  That's right, the Donald Trump of virtual land!

Soon after of course, the large companies followed suit thinking perhaps that if they build expensive shiny SIMS, everyone would come ... well nobody came.  It's a different kind of marketing in virtual worlds ... older rules of PR just does not apply.

Still, I find promising news here and there of people carving a niche for themselves and doing quite well.  Recently, this article as well as this one.  Here's an intereting article that just came out today -  Virtual Reality Worlds: The Hows and Whys of This Unique Marketing Universe.

I know of 2 friends who do very well.  One works at Global Kids teaching inner city kids leadership and entrepeneurial skills in Teen Secondlife.  The other is the director of IllClan who uses SecondLife as a platform for Machinima.  (You may have seen a segment of their work on CSI New York?  Exciting stuff!)

Myself?  I am happily content in creating and selling my virtual landscaping builds on my spare time and help people in any way to create their own niche in SecondLife.com.

Thanks for popping by!

I began second life through a friend here in New York around 2006.  So far it has been a very interesting ride!  Besides being a fantastic 3d canvas to create, it's a also a platform for many companies and individuals alike to create, communicate and expand.

I hope to cover a few things on this blog --- new releases, stories and tips for secondlife.com and other virtual worlds.  I may stray to other various other tips and tricks in marketing, design and graphics as I strive to make a living on-line away from the hustle and bustle of corporate america.
